New Wolf Era

Kestral

After what felt like hours of just staring into nothing, Kestral noticed a red hued shape off in the distance. Perhaps he was dreaming, or perhaps he was somehow making his way back to the den they had found. Nonetheless, Kestral was extremely tired from carrying the fire wood on his back, and his back ached with an unbearable pain, not to mention his feet were frozen, not used to walking in the cold snow and ice for so long.

Chattering, Kestral refused to ever give up. He needed to get back, and he needed to save Tarin and Kenna. There was no way he'd let either of them die. 

As he made his way closer to the red looking figure, he couldn't help but smile. "Kenna?" He called out, unsure of if it really was her, or if he was just hallusinating. "K-K-Kenna, is that you?" He asked, suddenly forgetting about the pain of the wood on his back, and quickening his pace a bit.

Kestral

The male nodded and watched as Kenna ignited the fire, looking at both of them as he settled down, scratching the snow away to sit on the cold ground. "Let's take it back.. b-back to the cave." He suggested, knowing that it would be safer for all of them to be in the warmth. He was so glad they had found him, especially since his feet were finally not as numb, and the cuts from himself hunting and making Kenna's present were finally scabbing over. Looking around, Kestral couldn't help but wonder where Kevin had flown off to. It wasn't like him to do things like that, and it made Kestral feel pretty nervous about losing his helper.

Trying not to think about it, Kestral stood and approached the fire. There was no way he'd be able to help, so he just picked up the spare wood that wasn't ignited yet, starting to carry it back to the cave. He stopped though, looking back at the pair. He didn't know where the cave was, and was probably headed in the wrong direction.

Kestral

He watched Kenna, feeling his cheeks grow red as she spoke to him. She really did see what he made? His tail wagged at an extremely quick pace despite how extremely tired he was. "You.. you really did?" He said, sheepishly. He didn't think she liked it, let alone even noticed it. "I-I can make you some more," He said, with a smile. "It's really fun, I.. I can teach you how," He suggested, ears swiveling towards Tarin as the male spoke up.

Although Kestral was happy for Tarins words, he held a rather blank expression and seemed some what confused. How he was treating him... Kestral thought hard and long, but honestly couldn't even remember what had happened between them. Giving a good hearted shrug, Kestral smiled at him. "Not to worry ol' buddy ol' pal, that's what friends are for. Any friend of Kenna is a friend of mine, because friends make her happy. If you died or got hurt, Kenna would hurt too, so I just wanted to help." He said, jumbling his words up and speaking almost too fast, where it probably only made sense in his own mind. He nodded happily though, and smiled as they had made it to the den.

"Do you guys know where Kevin is?" Kestral asked, looking from Kenna to Tarin, before placing the fire wood down in the center of the cave.

"Watch it!" A voice came out of no where, the whipoorwhill leaping out from the ground he was sitting on and fluttering up to Kestrals head. "I found the cave, but then I forgot where you went." Kevin admitted, dropping the herb he had been taking care of. "For Kenna, right?" Kevin said.

"Tarin, actually." Kestral corrected, reaching down to pick up the almost withered herb. Walking to Tarins side, he placed it infront of him, not realising that he had gotten the completly wrong herb for Tarin. "For your stomach ache." He said, thinking that Tarin had a stomach ache, not a head ache. A simple mix up, but in all reality, it wouldn't cause any harm.

so wait... you can possess others? mania began to wonder, her thoughts began to fly through her head, if you can possess others, does that mean if you possess me, you would be able to see zero? she smiled, hoping it could work like that, she just wanted at least one other wolf to know that zero was real, that zero did exist. her tail began to wag a bit, her multicolored eyes staring up at him, the light doesn't bother me, she motioned for him to come join her again. she was really enjoying just laying there and talking to him.

Tork

He walked through the nice part of the forest glad to have the little bit of armor to keep some of the cold away.  He had to stop and lift multiple rocks and dig around more to find some bugs for Dade. Then, though, he had to wait for Dade to hop off him, eat and then get back on. He picked a spot and used his element raise up the ground and make a shelter. He made a wolf skull and cross bones on the outside with the wolf having a happy smiling face.

Masika

The element-less female turned to admire Eziek as he seemed to know a lot about nature and what he spoke of. She giggled as Eziek seemed to brag to Mizuki, thinking the odd pair was cute in a way, able to feel the love they cherished and shared. She gave an encouraging nod as Eziek spoke of males leaving Mizuki's side, and not being worth it. "I too, agree to this. Any male who's not there for you, to protect you, to support you.. he's not worth your time." Probably the main reason why Masika was still single. She never trusted anyone, besides the two wolves before her. Others she had a growing bond with, but she would have never left the beaches side without the support from mainly Eziek, but Mizuki as well.

Her fur seemed to flick each time a snowflake hit her coat, as if the overwhelming contact with frozen water was almost painful, making her miss her element dearly. "If I still had Gus around, he'd love to see this stuff." She imagined him able to slide along with them, as the snow would provide a great moisture to the old snapping turtles skin. "It would be hilarious to see the look on his face." She took a moment to look towards the sky, wondering what he was doing up there in turtle heaven. Probably mingling with the ladies; he always had a thing for them. She giggled, as though the pain of losing her best friend was slowly becoming easier.

Turning back and away from Eziek, Masika saw a glorious thing peaking through the forest. It was large, larger than she had ever seen, and it was brilliant, and white. "What is.. that?!" She asked, always so full of questions. Her eyes seemed to sparkle with curiosity as the ever growing Masika witnessed a mountain through the trees for the very first time.

"We're not going there.. are we?" She asked, in a nervous, yet thrilling mannor.

Tempest

He had flown away from the ocean when it became too cold to stick around the water. Once again, he didn't know where he was going but it wasn't because he was too high. It was the snow blurring his vision. Sure he could have walked but it was against his nature to really walk anywhere, but of course he did it so his legs wouldn't get weak and useless. The air wolf's wings had become covered in ice so to keep up he was using his element but eventually the cold air was too much and he started falling. He landed and skidded across the ground into a slightly warm cave with about three wolves in it. If there were more, he couldn't tell and wasn't too worried about getting up or looking around due to him being just half concious.

Tempest

He stayed in the same position as when he landed in, just moving his head to look at the male who spoke to him "Tempest....what about you, tough guy?" his tone was kind of sleepy but he was getting more awake then when he fell from the sky.

Tempest

Normally he would have sat up to talk but all he could was lay in the same way he had when he crashed and slid. He was frozen that way it seemed. So all he could do was stay still and look up at Tarin "I was trying to see if I could fly high enough to get away from the weather but I fell asleep and fell. Now I'm just chillin'."

Eziek

The green wolf turned to look at Masika, giving her a soft smile at first. Wait, did that mean that Masika thought he was worth her time since he was there for her and protecting her? Then, he started to overthink again. Or was it because he left so long with his father he wasn't able to fully protect her and left her at the beach for a long time? Eziek scratched the ground in nervousness, full of uncertainty of how Masika viewed him depsite the shows of affection.

"I'm sure Gus would've had a blast, it's easy to slide around so he wouldn't have to put much effort into walking." Eziek smiled, his tail wagging back and forth. As he noticed the famous Mt. Bruno, Eziek nodded his head. "That would be a mountain. Large, steep land that's made of rock. Has a bunch of snow just like down here. My father and I went up there, that's where we met Fern." He lifted his ears up, almost as if he could hear the familiar mountain calling his name in the wind. "Now that you mention it, yeah. We'll be going there. It's beautiful, you can see all the land when you climb up it."

Eziek lowered his muzzle down to the snow and circling it around, causing a small mound of snow to form. He soon pawed at it in the shape of a sphere before softly hurling it over at her to hopefully land on her legs.

Eziek quickly sat down, looking to the side and acting innocent. His tail flickering and pointing toward Mizuki as if she was the one at fault.

"Eziek, Eziek, Eziek!" A chirp appeared above, cheering on his wolf.

Eziek looked up ward, "Ssh, Griffin. Be quiet." He playfully warned his helper, not wanting to give away his act.

Masika

As Eziek gave Masika a smile, she felt warmth inside despite the snow and chilly air around her. Givign a side step, she looked at him as his features suddenly changed, and he seemed rather nervous. "Mizuki seemed to find the best of them all, one who has all those characteristics, and then some more." She complimented, hoping that his nervousness would go at ease, but her own words made her sheepisly turn away, focusing on Mizuki for awhile until she felt her blushing subside.

"That's exactly what I was thinking," Masika said, unable to refrain from looking back at Eziek with a happy grin. Her tail wagged a bit as he mentioned the word 'mountain'. A word the pair have both used before, but she could never picture in the past. Looking to the georgeous mountain, Masika felt the blood in her body seem to pump faster, as though her heart was going to pound out of her chest. "Climb.. it? We are going to... climb it?" Masika felt her body flood with a heavy sensation, one of nerves and jitters. "That will take years!" She said, unable to believe they would ever make it to the top, alive, especially.

Without realising it, Masika had begun to walk away from the group, and towards the mountains. It was as though she was entranced, eyes looking up for once instead of focusing on her footing, as the ground was becoming more bearable when it was covered in snow. She experienced a strange feeling as something hit the back of her legs, and she quickly turned around as if expecting something to be there. Seeing Eziek and Mizuki both minding their own business, Masika was a bit thrown off, and stood there confused for awhile. Looking up to Ezieks helper, she gave a laugh. "What was that?" She asked, dumbfounded as she looked to her leg, realising it was snow, and then looked to the ground. "Does snow come alive?" She asked, literally having no idea that Eziek threw the snowball at her.

Mizuki

The female was filled with laughter as each scene continuously took place. "The mountains?" She felt her heart skip a beat as she followed the gaze that Masika had presented, seeing the large mountain through the snow-covered trees. "We're going to climb it?" She somehow doubted herself, remembering the past horror experience of dealing with mountain lions. Looking Eziek over, she wondered if he could handle them, as Banshee did when they were younger. That was a frightning experience, and she knew she didn't want to re-live the death of those innocent cubs once again.

"Oh, shucks." She grinned, smiling at Masika. "I didn't pick him. We just sort of ran into each other. That's probably when the best males have come into my life - when I  haven't looked." She brought her old gaze upon Eziek, slowing her pace as the two began to play.

When Eziek lifted a paw and chucked a snowball towards Masika, she let out a young sounding laugh, while she sat to rest. It had already been a long walk for her, and her bones weren't what they used to be. Panting, Mizuki closed her eyes as the breeze and snow flew through her fur. "I believe it is a new year." She said quietly, mostly to herself. She felt older, and not as easily maneuverable as she used to be. She had to be.. what? Five? Six maybe? She couldn't remember.

Tired eyes gazed up to the young pair before her, and after a nice rest, she stood and caught up to them. "That's a snowball." Mizuki said, a devil like grin planted on her face. "This is how they work." Scooping up a grey speckled paw, Mizuki held a nice pile of snow in her pad, and flung it sideways, aiming at Eziek's neck and head area. She gave a laugh, lighting bumping him playfully before prancing up to Masika's side. "Get him!!!" She said, tail wagging as if the pair brought life into Mizuki's eyes.

Kestral

He nodded to the male as he spoke, watching him curiously as he explained his name and his gratitude. "You are welcome." He nodded. "Thats what friends are for." Kestral didn't really realise this wasn't a friend, he just figured he needed to help any wolf out in need, for all wolves in his eyes, were his friend. Especially if they were Kenna's friend, then they got extra treatment.

Kestral turned as Tarin was seemingly trying not to laugh, and he seemed pretty upset looking at Tarins face at first. "What's so funny?" He asked, almost as if insulted, but then he couldn't help but turn his fake frown into a smile. "Gotchya!" He laughed, grinning as he went cross-eyed to look at his nose. "I'm okay." He said, and then grinned again. "That was pretty funny, huh?" He gave a laugh. It was always good to laugh at mistakes, it kept a good soul clean. Kestral gave a smile, turning to look over Tempest. "We have some extra food," He offered, walking towards the back of the den, fetching the fox that was untouched by Lexya. Dragging it to Tempest's side, Kestral sat quietly, wondering if he was hungry. If not, Kestral wouldn't mind, it seemed that no one really liked his food anyways.

"Owe me one?" He asked, ears perking a bit as his head slightly tilted to the side. "What is one? And how do you owe it?" He had never heard such a phrase, but it was a neat one. Sorta like Kenna's idea of what leave was, he thought that was interesting, too.

Eziek

He was confused by Mizuki's hesitation toward the mountain climb, it didn't seem that she wanted to either. It was a beautiful site, and didn't Mizuki go there already with him. "Do you want to skip the mountains? I mean, we already went hunting up there together." He smiled at her, trying not to frown as the mountains seemed to bring bad luck. His mother went up there, she came back down and died of illness. His father went up there, came back down and was murdered in the forest. Eziek felt his throat clamp up but he shook it to the side as he watched Masika.

Eziek glared at his helper, hoping he wouldn't merrily chirp and giveaway his attempt at hiding the 'alive' snow at Masika. While looking up, he didn't get a chance to turn to look at Mizzy to notice the sly female throw a snowball at him too. He flinched as it hit him on the side of the cheek. It grew rosy underneath his thick, shaggy fur and he shivered from the instant coldness. "Mizzy!" Eziek shouted out in bewilderment. "I knew having two girls around would be a bad idea." He joked, lowering his head as Masika threw a mist of snow at him. It was a nice attempt, but was just as effective as it made him blind for a moment.

"I'm going to get you two." He barked to them, rubbing his paw against his muzzle as if it'd help remove some of the wetness from the snow. He tumbled through the snow, nipping at Mizuki first before jumping through the mist of Masika's snow again to try and spook her.

Karan

She followed through the forest, looking around just to see if there was something interesting. She ****ed her head to the side when he hid and she was about to ask what he was doing when she saw the other wolves. She shifted into a white hare so she could hide better with him.

Kestral

He turned back at Tarin as he seemed to get defensive about the food he was offering. "I found the food..." Kestral muttered, feeling as though Tarin was acting like his father, trying to boss him around in a way and not let him just help out this poor wolf.

"Can't you see? He practically died, and you don't even care." Kestral said, eyes wide as his element seemed to get the best of him. His deep care for others souls was evidant, as he would never want to just let any wolf freeze to death. "Don't be so heartless. I'm probably the least favorite here. If we run out of food, I'll just go find more. You won't miss me if I don't come back." He said, turning back to Tempest. 

When the male declined his offer, Kestrals eyes became sad. "Oh.. okay." He said, starting to walk away. As he turned, he used his back leg to kick the fox back towards Tempest, as if trying to convince him it would be okay to eat. Settling down, Kestral decided it was time to relax. He was trying way too hard to help everyone, and it was wearing him out. Normally, he would have sat down by Kenna, but he got a strange vibe from her soul and it made him sit near the opposite side of the den, by himself. Spinning in a few circles, Kestral plopped down with a sigh, and stared at the floor. He was finally starting to accept that no one would ever understand him, and that his element and personality made him not match up to anyone anymore.
